Bill: Military Reformation
Details
Submitted by[?]: People's Progressive Party
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: April 3542
Description[?]:
The ULF asserts that participation in the military should be voluntary. Having defense industries be privatized allows for them to make profits, which is an incentive to work harder and to do better which in turns results in more revenue from them based on corporate income taxes. Paramilitary organizations belonging to each political party can only result in disaster, they should be illegal and those who have them should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. |

Message | Participation in the military is currently voluntary, there are private defence industries all this does is sell of state industries, threatening jobs, production and research, and to our knowledge no party currently claims a paramilitary. |

Message | Nor should they be allowed to. If they don't have them, what threat is it to ensure no party ever does? There isn't one. Defense industries should all be privatized, privatizing these industries allows greater competition among defense industries in times of war. We all know competition drives prices down and drives quality of goods up. Not only that, but privatizing them will cut the cots we as a government spend operating them, and we get to collect taxes from them. This is win win. You mean to say that military service is voluntary for now, but that the government reserves the right to force adult males to serve a term in the military during times of war. |
