| Message | Here is the way I figured it. We could 1. Decrease taxes - Optimal, but with this legislature, will never, ever, happen 2. Increase spending - not optimal, but would fill the gap in our GDP. it is really bad, and really inefficient and bugs the hell out of me. I HATE INEFFICIENCY. I would rather just increase some govt spending than leave a 500 Billion tax hole surplus. However, We need to leave this budget for a LONG time. This is my version of a self made compromise that I dont want touched for at least 10-20 in game years. Agreed? |

| Message | Dont get me wrong, i am HEAVILY against increased size of government, and I DEMAND that if this budget passes, this budget MUST stay put for a while. However, seeing as we have the money, and noone else will vote for a tax cut, we might as well help the economy a little by spending it. By the way, our increase in govt spending is supposed to increase GDP by about 2x what we spend. However, economics doesnt really apply to this game very well... and LPD, thanks for the thought, but you can vote however you want. I dun much care. You and I dont really need to voteswap on much legislation. Either you are voting with me, and the bill is passed/doomed, or you are voting against me, and the bill passes/fails regardless. What I tried to say is that your vote doesnt really impact the fate of bills. Neither does mine. You and I are not critical swing voters, that impact the passage/demise of bills. | Message | And as far as this staying for a while, I just want it to stay put for a few election cycles.not permanently. to aviod the IPD/CC confrontations of epic proportions, you know, the reason you and I fought for like 4 days last week? lets just leave the budget be for a few elections, so that we can forget about it and concentrate on bills you catch my drift? |
