Message | I hope other parties will vote to restore true democracy to Hobrazia. |

Message | At present the role of mayors are performed by the local governments (aka municipal councils). You propose to create a seperate post of mayor which would simply be an increase in bureaucracy. The local governments are already democratically elected so this is unneccessary. |

Message | I would think having one mayor would be less bureaucratic than a council. |

Date | 22:17:03, December 21, 2005 CET | From | Hobrazian Peoples Party | To | Debating the Democracy Act. -2159- |
Message | Not to the HPP, we've already decentralized this law, we don't see the reason to go further. We rather see us going the opposite way. |
Date | 23:37:58, December 21, 2005 CET | From | We Say So! Party | To | Debating the Democracy Act. -2159- |
Message | The law, as written, would be impossible to implement. A mayor would require a council in order for the local system of governance to operate and, in which case, would merely add to the bureaucractic problems inherent in local government. As the municipal council is already directly elected, there is no requirement to increase the bureaucracy inherent in the introduction of mayors. |
