Bill: Telecommunications Act 2159
Details
Submitted by[?]: We Say So! Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: March 2160
Description[?]:
In order to allow for competition in the telecommunications market, but also to guarantee that prices cannot reach such a level that those on limited incomes are unable to receive what is now an almost essential item, the Government will introduce limitations on maximum call charges. These maximums will be set at a maximum hourly rate worked out by the current maximum charge set currently, with yearly updates to work out any changes that might be required due to inflation. Mobile telephone networks are not included in the above proposal as they are deemed solely as luxury goods. |

Date | 16:52:13, December 22, 2005 CET | From | United Blobs | To | Debating the Telecommunications Act 2159 |
Message | There is no real need for this. With the high demand for telephone services and the ease of switching providers then companies have a large incentive to keep prices low and affordable. |
