Message | Mr Speaker, this is nonsense, how are we supposed to believe that a bunch of out of touch bureucrats can better define adequate workplace conditions, especially working hours, than individual workers themselves in correspondence with their employers? People should be able to decide themselves how many hours they are capable and willing to work. Furthermore, I want to inquire how restricting the rights of individuals to go on strike to certain groups by taking it from others at the mercy of the governing elites protects "us" from "multi-national corporations that suck the life out of us and reduce our workers to wage slavery?" This whole bill, with all of its contradictions, illustrates precisely what is wrong with politics in this country - populist sentimentalism continues to guide our rulers' actions, and no economic reason at all. Message | Mr Speaker This bill is full of corporatist ideas that will empower corporates at expense of workers. No to government mandated work hours let workers negotiate for it, no privatised energy,no ban strikes, no to hemp monopolies. I also want to say Mrs.Davidson this is not populist, this is fascistic. I will vigorously oppose this bill. I yield. Danielle Johnson MP Tanaiste. |
