Bill: Back to Work Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Hacia Casa
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: April 3567
Description[?]:
At over 11%, unemployment in eastern Egelia is unacceptably high. Urgent action is needed to get people back to work. We therefore propose: - a reduction in corporation tax from 10 to 8%, encouraging companies to expand instead of laying off staff. - a reduction in the minimum wage, to prevent the low-skilled from being priced out of the jobs market. - tax breaks and subsidies for worker co-ops, encouraging a growth in the "third sector". - giving the go-ahead to GM farming techniques to halt the decline in eastern Egelian agriculture. - subsidies for artistic and cultural projects that generate jobs for our economy. Message | Mr.Speaker, This bill is itself a contradiction. While encouraging working-class authority through DWC's,it also allows the pollution of the food supply by franken-foods,a reduction in a basic working right, the minimum wage, which only further alienate the already dissatisfied work force from the government, and allow the corporate Robber Barons to continue to pocket profits with another tax cut.The VBSM will present it's own real solutions bill.
