MessageHerr Präsident,

although we are not in favor of abolishing the state religion - this particular article should be repealed if this bill passes - we will vote in favor of this on balance, as we are especially fond of article 3. Public resources should not be spent on prosecuting non-crimes that do not inflict harm to anyone.

MessageThe HSP agrees wholeheartedly with the position of the Liberale Volkspartei - we have no intent to abolish or restrict the beliefs of any person, but the state should not prioritize petty 'crimes' for trivial issues. Religion is a private affair.

MessageHerr Präsident

Why does state promotes a religion? I can't get that. People's have religions, not states. Establishing a state religion is promotion of a particular religion over others. Which I find morally wrong.

Leader of Fortschrittspartiet

MessageHerr Präsident,

while I would in theory agree with the sentiments expressed by Frau Beichner, I must note that in the case of Hulstria and Gao-Soto things are quite different from other nations with a more secular tradition. Our national identity is built on Hosian values to a very substantial extent, and there can be no doubt that the state must uphold and preserve this national identity. The current state religion policy fulfills this aim while in no way restricting no person's freedom of and from religion. We thus consider it compatible with liberal thinking - unlike the blasphemy laws, which we want to scrap altogether.

Random fact: Any RP law granting extraordinary "emergency powers" or dictator-like powers to a government must be passed by at least a 2/3rds majority, but (like all RP laws) may always be overturned by a simple majority vote of the legislature.
