Bill: Stability Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: Hacia Casa

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill presents the formation of a cabinet. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. Traditionally, parties in the proposal vote yes, others (the opposition) vote no. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: March 3572

Description[?]:

Mr. Speaker,

The people of eastern Egelia have clearly demonstrated at the recent election that they have had enough of the Morganna Cadfeal government. We will be headed towards imminent disaster if that woman continues in office any longer.

As a responsible political party, Hacia Casa puts the interests of the whole people first. We are therefore prepared to support the minority National Unity government proposed here, on the condition that it agrees to implement legislative reforms which will be essential to stabilising the security situation.

MessageMr. Speaker,

My party supports articles 15, 17 and 19, and we also wholeheartedly back the idea of a National Unity government of this kind to provide stability in these extraordinary times. However, articles 14, 16 and 18 are simply too great a limitation of personal civil liberties to be acceptable to us. There are certain lines in the sand that must not be crossed.

MessageMr. Speaker,

Eastern Egelia is under serious threat from political violence and terrorism. Unless we get this package of legislative measures through Parliament, then we will not be able to contain the situation. For this reason, Hacia Casa will refused to support any proposed government that will not implement the necessary reforms.

Random fact: It usually takes up to an hour for election results to generate. During this time, the "Next Election" date is put forward a month, which is confusing. Do not worry! In a short time, the election result will generate and the "Next Election" date will then correct itself.
