Message | Mr. Speaker, This reform will essentially render marriages obsolete, once again. Marriage is not simply a formalization of love, it is an institution for those that produce children. If people want to change sex partners now and then, they don't have to marry at all. Roland Fahramar Tanist of the Good Peoples Movement |

Message | Mr. Speaker, Roland Fahrarmar is fully entitled to his own interpretation and understanding of the institution of marriage. In his case, I think, this is a religious understanding. What we are dealing with here though is the *civil* code. It is restrictive and cruel, in our judgement, to make it so difficult for people in broken relationships to obtain a legal divorce. Random fact: "OOC", "IC" and "IG" are commonly-used acronyms in Particracy. "OOC" refers to comments, discussions and actions which are out-of-character, meaning they are done player-to-player rather than party-to-party. "IC" refers to in-character interactions (ie. party-to-party). Similarly, "IG" means in-game, although this term may also simply refer to what happens in the actual game interface, as opposed to on the forum or elsewhere. "RP" just means "role-play". |
