Message | Mr. Speaker, Animal experiments continue to be essential to making progress in medical science. Unless this important research goes ahead, people will suffer and die needlessly. We fully agree that animal experiments should be tightly regulated and only carried out when absolutely necessary, but a blanket ban like this would be a massive step backwards. I would also like to remind Unity that far, far, far more damage will be done to medical research by this Bill than the one we are supporting (and they are opposing) on withdrawing subsidies to Big Pharma.
