Bill: Phone and Pharma Deregulation Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Radical Democratic Party
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: June 2161
Description[?]:
Phone and pharmaceuticals are very competitive markets, so there is no need to regulate their prices. In addition, as a matter of good economic policy, the RDP is opposed to subsidizing the supply of a good. When relevant, we prefer to subsidize demand. Please note that, per Indrala's other legislation, the government will continue to provide free drugs to low-income people. |

Message | This goes way beyond our market ideals. We believe regulation to be essential unless there is a nationalised alternative. Therefore, we cannot support this bill. |
Date | 15:43:59, December 23, 2005 CET | From | Radical Democratic Party | To | Debating the Phone and Pharma Deregulation Act |
Message | On the contrary, the RDP's brand of liberalism believes in special regulation only by exception, when required by the specific market conditions. We don't see any need for it in these particular markets. |

Message | Sorry, it is not possible to split a bill once voting has been initiated. All such requests must be made during the debate period, which should last 8 months as a minimum. |
