Bill: Trade Union Reform Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Grand National Party
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: April 3579
Description[?]:
As a man from a working-class background myself, I value trade unions and believe they have an important social, economic and political role to play in Dranish life. The current legislative framework does need amending, however, as at present there is too much potential for abuse by militant trade union leaders. We need to be clear that industrial action must always be the last resort, and not the first resort. And nobody should have to join a trade union if they do not wish to do so. Taoiseach Aled Pritchard MP |

Message | Mr Speaker Government shouldn't encourage or discourage business models and restrict workers right to strike his labour but we support article 4 but it is not enough is to swallow this whole bill. I yield. Dana Roussou Leader of Koalisjon |
Date | 18:05:23, November 19, 2013 CET | From | Unity | To | Debating the Trade Union Reform Act |
Message | Mr. Speaker, Article 4 basically outlaws industrial action. Having good labour relations mean a balance between trade unions and employers, whereas this bill will leave employers in total control. Robert Mead Unity Party leader |
Date | 18:30:53, November 19, 2013 CET | From | Grand National Party | To | Debating the Trade Union Reform Act |
Message | Mr. Speaker, Unity should consider that the legislation we propose treats striking workers in a fairer and more consistent way than they are treated at present. At present, a government hostile towards trade unions could give every employer the right to sack strikers. By contrast, under the system we propose, an impartial tribunal will decide whether sacking a striking worker is reasonable or not. Taoiseach Aled Pritchard MP |
