Voting deadline: August 3585

Description[?]:

Jelbanian agriculture needs to move into the 36th century. Our farms should be made to stand on their own two feet instead of being dependent on taxpayers subsidies. They should also be encourage to merge into larger, more efficient units, and they should not be afraid to use modern techniques such as GM.

MessageWe certainly must modernize our agriculture, but not at the expense of impoverished Jelbék farmers. Denying them subsistence and encouraging large farms is a return to the era of feudalism, enriching the already powerful clans and allowing inequality to harm Jelbanian democracy.

MessageIf Kezmai Wrntukaidrsme Ornklarz cared to take a look at our national budget, he would appreciate we are on the verge of bankruptcy and cannot afford to carry on borrowing money at the rate we currently are. The drive for efficiency and modernisation may be a tough pill to swallow for traditional communities - but they are better than bankruptcy and starvation.

MessageThe money we are currently borrowing is used exclusively for the development of a national industry, so that Jelbania may achieve economic independence and a fully modernized industrial economy. Subsidies are paid from taxes collected from formerly privileged clan chiefs, feudal nobility, and the Jelbanien upper class.

MessageKezmai Wrntukaidrsme Ornklarz has a very peculiar understanding of economics if he imagines his government can "achieve economic independence" by BORROWING money it will take generations upon generations to pay back! All he is doing is pushing us into greater and greater dependence upon our creditors.

MessageThe money is used to invest in economic development, which will create revenue and thus the means to repay our debt.
