Description[?]:
The General Synod of the VKS, through it's President, the King, propose the following: Currently, the VKS is without theological institutions for the training and education of new clergy. This bill would authorize the creation of five (5) seminaries, tasked with educating students on theology, liturgy, church history and other skills vital to the clergy. The five seminaries: Ellisras Theological Seminary (Boerestaat) San Felipe Theological Seminary (Kaap) Witbank Theological Seminary (Ijkpieland) Atlamira Theological Seminary (Sint Pietereiland) Kroonstad Theological Seminary (Tasselstaat) This bill would also authorize the creation of two musical academies, specializing in organ music and church and choir music. These would be located connected to two seminaries: one in Witbank and the other in Ellisras. Heading each seminary would be a Chancellor, given the same title as Provost/Dean (The Very Rev.) The Chancellor would be appointed by the diocesan bishop and accountable to the bishop. The Chancellor would also have to be an ordained member of the VKS clergy. Each seminary would have authority over day-to-day happenings, while the General Synod of the VKS would fire/hire professors and set the curriculum. |

Random fact: By default the head of government is the ultimate authority within a national government. In general terms, heads of government are expected to consult with cabinet colleagues (including those from other parties) before making significant decisions but they remain responsible for government action. |
