Message | "Mr. Speaker, Thanks in large part to the business-friendly, competitive tax rates that have been implemented under sound Tory principles, this country has for the last several years run an enormous annual surplus of almost 5%. While it is not the intention of this government to surrender to socialist tax-and-spend policies, the maintenance of such a high surplus has been unnecessary and somewhat offensive when the money could have been put to better use. This budget reduces the annual surplus to 0.05% of GDP, which we believe to be a more sensible level, while increasing investment in underfunded government departments. I yield the floor." Rt Hon. Septimus Maudling-Butcher, Chancellor of the Exchequer |

Message | "Mr. Speaker, May I commend my Rt Hon. friend upon a masterful budget. Surely this budget once again proves that the Tory party is the true party of government in Luthori, and once again demonstrates that under the governance of this party, Luthori is once again going the right way! I yield the floor." Rt Hon. Agatha Sandys-Carteret, Leader of the Tory Party |
Date | 02:42:10, December 29, 2013 CET | From | The Republican Party | To | Debating the Budget proposal of August 3598 |
Message | Mr. Speaker, Need I remind the party opposite that it was the Republican Party who turned this nations fiscal status around? We entered office a a time of great challenge and turned an out of control defecit into a healthy surplus. The organised back patting on display here is both misleading and embarrassing. We shall not support this budget because it robs is of our ability to pay down our debt obligations. I yield |

Random fact: It usually takes up to an hour for election results to generate. During this time, the "Next Election" date is put forward a month, which is confusing. Do not worry! In a short time, the election result will generate and the "Next Election" date will then correct itself. |
