Message | OOC: So, I just want to know how you managed to get the number of 930,000 troops? |

Message | OOC: the bulk of those troops are reserve and will only be called up in certain circumstances and for the rather large number of troops in the ANDF i am using the RL Egyptian CSF (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Central_Security_Forces) as the basis for this. Also do keep in mind these are still projected numbers as i am still writing the act and have yet to fully consolidate IC Aldegar |

Message | OOC: Also, the military equipment for Aldegar is based off of Modern day Iran. Despite the fact that Iran claims to make a lot of the equipment domestically a lot of it was left over from the time of the Shah as well as being supplied by Russia and China through clandestine arms deals. For instance to claim that the Dragunov was locally produced when it has no local variant, it's a little much. I'm far from being a pain Pale, I am merely doing my job as Inspector-General of OTAF. Also, the naming of equipment as long as it isn't specific to a person such as the Admiral Gorshkov Frigate, you are absolutely okay to use the name to keep it simple and casual for other players. So the S-300 system, would be okay to keep as S-300 because it is not named specifically after someone rather a name. Also, with that being mentioned be careful that you aren't saying equipment which is produced with a foreign power such as Lodamun or Luthori or Trigunia is produced locally when it isn't ya know? With that being said I know the Iranian reverse-engineer a lot of the American equipment that was there and have produced many local-made runs of the equipment, though note that it is apparent that the Iranian-made equipment is weaker. Also numbers wise, I am doing some experimentation with numbers and how much it'll cost so for now I'll let it go until I reform the system with troop numbers. Any questions lemme know! Farsun |

Message | OOC: Oh absolutely, a ton of equipment as we discussed is left over American equipment which the Iranians, to varying degrees of success have reverse engineered and created locally but as stated, to varying degrees of success most notably air craft. You can read in defense weeklys that Iranian air craft often crash due to problems with equipment, just recently an American F-14 crashed somewhere in Iran, so that might be something you want to take into account if you wish to follow a similar rout such as the real life Iranian rout. |
