Message | We find the limited response of Unity here to be a burning indictment of how little they care about art, tradition and Malivian culture. The Socialists denounce that their sole aim and purpose is power - to obtain it and to preserve it. If they wish to prove us wrong, may they vote in favour of this bill. |
Date | 17:53:40, January 21, 2014 CET | From | Hosian Democratic Party | To | Debating the Promotion of Art Act |
Message | The Church and Government of Malivia will commission art as it, the Presiding Bishop, and of course our Royal Majesty deems fit. Aside from that, the Government of Malivia will not be shelling out taxpayer dollars for art, though individual citizens are free to craft whatever works of art they like, and sell them, should there be a demand for their works. Article 2 is a direct assault on private property rights and we oppose that as well. |
Date | 19:27:45, January 21, 2014 CET | From | Royal Malivian Freedom Party | To | Debating the Promotion of Art Act |
Message | Like any other aspect of a free market economy, art and artists' success must be because there is a demand for their work. The frivolous spending of tax payer Crowns on art just for the sake of spending money is a violation of our duty to represent the people's best interests and spend their money wisely. As the Conservative party stated, if the citizens of Malivia wish to support art and artists they are free to do so on their own will. |
