Bill: Foreign Relations Act 3611
Details
Submitted by[?]: Ukuvuka kwamaButho
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: April 3611
Description[?]:
It is time to open ourselves to the world! We have long been oppressed but the foreigner, and many fear and distrust the foreigner for precisely those reasons. But is our fear not as oppressive as foreign domination? By retreating into our shells, afraid of looking at the sunlight, we are being oppressed, without the need for jackboots and whips and bullets, but by our own mental straitjacket. We can only truly free ourselves from oppression by going out into the world, proud of our culture and heritage, mindful of our history, and confident in our future, as equal partners at the table of nations. We are a nation on the path of increasing greatness, and we have nothing to hide, nothing to be ashamed of. |

Message | We can be friendly with foreigners without giving them carte blanche to come into our country and break our laws! If a foreigner wants to come to Ibutho, whether as a diplomat or anything else, then he has to obey the law of the land. And here in Ibutho, the law of the land is the law of Chief Mlungisi! If this law was in place, then we would never have been able to punish the Aldegarian Ambassador for his impertinence (OOC: see http://forum.particracy.net/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=2572&start=60#p70138 ) Article 2 is highly dangerous. The last thing we want is enemies of the nation going abroad and stirring up trouble for us there. We have already had enough trouble with Prince Zonke fleeing to Rutania to make a massive embarrassment of himself, his family and his country. No more Prince Zonkes, please! Random fact: In cases where players have failed to clearly and accurately reference their nation's RP laws in the "Bills under debate" section, Moderation will rule them invalid if a challenge is made to their validity. |
