Bill: Civil Economy Act of 3617

Details

Submitted by[?]: Liberal Democrats

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: September 3617

Description[?]:

This bill will be one of the largest bills of our time if it is passed. If passed, this bill will re-shape the economic landscape of this country in the interest of both the Alorian people and Alorian corporations and businesses.

This bill shall:

* Abolish Child Labor - in further compliance with the international Child Labor law we signed in October 2892

* Allow the setup of local banks - And encourage the growth and establishment of local communities.

* Allow Employers and Trade Unions to work together to establish fair and healthy work hours.

* Setup a National Energy Company to put an end to unfair energy price hikes from private companies.

* Foreign companies will be able to invest in Alorian businesses - but not take a majority share. That way they actually benefit the Alorian Economy.

* Make it a fundemental right for ALL workers to strike. However, critical services, such as the fire dept, must still provide a minimal service if they strike.

MessageWe respectfully disapprove of this bill. A strict, routine and organized work place is more productive. Although we agree that rights are extremely important and we definitely agree that more must be done to improve worker's rights - we think these economic reforms are too extreme.

A lot of these proposals should be proposed individually. This bill is extremely ambitious and risky, however, we don't wish to take that risk with our national economy.

MessageWe also feel that this bill extremely unfair on employers. - It's great to focus the bill around improving worker's rights - but it seems to be at a huge expense of the employer.

MessageWe oppose article 3 on the grounds that not all workers are part of unions to negotiate with.

MessageAs pointed out by the HDP - This bill is also flawed with the loophole in Article 3.

Random fact: Players consent to the reasonable and predictable consequences of the role-play they consent to. For example, players who role-play their characters as committing criminal offences should expect those characters to experience the predictable judicial consequences of that.
