This legislation calls for the establishment of a central bank for the island. The institution shall be called the Royal Bank of Keymon. The bank will regulate the Keymon Dollar and national interest rates. A twelve-person committee consisting of eleven representatives and one bank chairman will be appointed by the government when the bill passes. Candidates will be nominated in a successive bill. All boardmembers will be government-appointed officials within the Ministry of Finance. The chairperson of the board will be appointed by a special act of the Legislative Council. Their tenure will be for seven years. |
