Message | While I strongly support Article 3 and to a lesser extent Article 1; Article 2 sounds dangerously libertarian and open to interpretation. |

Message | Article Two basically says that all states have the right to remain sovereign and that if any nation attempts to conquer them by force, we will intervene....it's very similar to both Article I and Article III. |

Message | There is nothing wrong with Imperialism, the Axis Powers are not Imperialists, they are fascists. If you call Nazi Germany and "Imperialistic" nation, then you are sorrily mistaken. I support what this treaty stands for, just not how they worded it. Thus, even though it will not matter, I shall vote no. |

Message | Dude, we were just attacked by the Axis. Why the hell would we join them? |

Message | Clause 2 clearly applies to individuals not nations; when it refers to freedom to an own destiny. And every party here denies the citizens come freedoms. Our nations will be instantly violation the treaty. |

Message | I disagree. In my interpretation, clause 2 applies to nations. |

Message | As the drafter of this treaty, I feel I could offer some insight here. Clause two does NOT apply to individual parties. Such a move would be a grotesque offence to the autonomy of individual parties, and would rightly be regarded as intollerable by any thinking nation. Indeed, the article explicitly states that nations should be allowed 'to determine their own economic, social and cultural destiny'. In other words, parties can do what they like outside of imperialism. Finally, the article specifically refers to the concept of nationhood, stating '[t]herefore, all members will intervene on the world stage when a nations sovereignty is threatened.' I hope this has cleared up some confusions. |

Message | It doesn't say nations; it says 'the people'. This treaty is very poorly worded; regardless of intention. I stand by my reading of Article 2. |

Message | *cough* '[t]herefore, all members will intervene on the world stage when a NATIONS sovereignty is threatened.' |

Random fact: When you join the game, you will find yourself with only zero seats. That's because your party's representatives haven't been elected yet. You need to establish your party's position on issues by proposing several bills that your party wants passed and sending them to vote. This raises your visibility and if you do it enough, you will win seats at the next election. |
