MessageThe homies have been unwilling to implement the new laws, so I suggest we have a re-election to oust them from office.

MessageWe have no choice *but* to implement the new laws. We're required to by the Coburan constitution. What we're doing is working *within the context* of the new laws to prevent as much damage as is possible.

MessageMarquis Jones--and, by extension, the cabinet members originally installed under Caleb Williams' administration--were elected fair and square in the last election. To throw off Cobura's electoral calendar and force another election simply because we aren't sitting back and being sycophants for y'all is absurd.

MessageThe simple fact of the matter is, y'all aren't understanding Civics 101 here. More specifically, y'all aren't understanding a little something called "checks and balances".

Y'all "check and balance" the branch of government us Homies are in control of--the executive branch--by passing laws, which Marquis Jones cannot veto. That much is fine with y'all.

The other half, though, is the flip side of that, and that's the part y'all have your panties riding high about: the fact that the executive branch of the government may "execute" (see the root word there?) laws the legislature passes in any way they see fit, so long as the wording of the law is followed.

That is what we're doing. We are carrying out the new laws, *as we are required to*. Y'all just don't like *how* we are carrying out the new laws. For example, the fact that when y'all legislated that health care must be private, we followed that law, and made all Coburan health care private. We simply made sure that hospitals only fell into the hands of NON-PROFIT private entities.

Y'all don't like that, but guess what? Tough cookies. It's how government works. If y'all don't like it, then y'all are in the wrong place, my friends.

MessageIm afraid the government doesnt understand how government works- as scary as that may be. They cannot pick and choose how to implement laws. As it says in the constitution all executive decisions must run through this legislature.

MessageExecutive *orders* must be run through the legislature. The only thing that part of Cobura's constitution means is that Marquis Jones is a figurehead. It does NOT mean y'all get to complain about our Cabinet members simply doing their jobs.

MessageShow me where in the constitution it says you can enact laws however you see fit.

MessageWe'll say this nice and slow for y'all.

The executive branch of the government is responsible for... wait for it... "executing" the laws of Cobura. It is their--or, rather, our--job. Our boundaries are only set at the *wording* of the law. We are not "enacting laws however we see fit", we are EXECUTING THE LAWS!

For example, the current health care policy. We cannot run hospitals; that is now forbidden. We followed the letter of the law when we released those formerly State-run hospitals to private non-profits. The law says that health care is "private". It does NOT say that those private entities HAVE to be *for-profit* private entities. We do not have to have y'all's permission to simply execute laws Y'ALL passed!

Still with us? Alrighty then.

We do not require permission from the legislature to do what our JOB is. Period. If you're going to get on the slippery slope of requiring us to get permission from the legislature to simply execute the laws, many of which Y'ALL passed, then guess what?

You know how you said that "ALL" executive decisions must be run through the legislature?

The logical extension of that is that Marquis Jones, Reyna Quarks, Evan Evanson, Madison Cheeseman XXL, and the other members of the Executive branch would have to get permission for ALL the decisions we make--down to whether and when they would get to use the restroom, eat lunch, put on their socks, board the train.. all the way down to whether and when they'd get to *pick pens up from their own desks*! If y'all want that, then we'll be more than happy to oblige. I'm sure that Adorina Paulo would *love* to be called to convene the legislature at 3 AM on a Sunday morning when Trayvon Kyle usually wakes up to take a dump! And we know that Tray-Tray would absolutely take JOY in that!

Message*Senator Tyrone Taylor and Senator Devin Thurman leave the floor as Senatoress LaQuisha Burns takes the floor*

Listen, y'all. We know our Constitution. That clause y'all are trying to milk like a freakin' cow only applies to executive decisions that are OUTSIDE the letter of Coburan law. It does NOT apply to our everyday jobs of enacting *current* laws. Otherwise, what the hell's the point of even HAVING a damn executive branch?

Obvious much? The executive branch EXECUTES the laws; they do not pass them. What on Terra is your point?

Random fact: "Treaty-locking", or ratifiying treaties that completely or nearly completely forbid any proposals to change laws, is not allowed. Amongst other possible sanctions, Moderation reserves the discretion to delete treaties and/or subject parties to a seat reset if this is necessary in order to reverse a treaty-lock situation.
