Bill: Cabinet Proposal B, October 3640
Details
Submitted by[?]: Beluzian Syndicalist Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This bill presents the formation of a cabinet. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. Traditionally, parties in the proposal vote yes, others (the opposition) vote no. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in and all parties in the proposal have voted yes, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline.
Voting deadline: July 3641
Description[?]:
As part of the intial exploratory phase of our coalition builiding negotiations, we present a number of different plans to the Assembly. Each indicates our willingness to work with the parties involved, and is intended to be a prompt towards more detailed and hopefully productive discussions. Every part of each our proposal is open to debate, both public and private (through preferably private) with the parties concerned. This includes cabinet positions, policy, and legislative agendas for a full Assembly term. Proposal B envisages a three member coalition between the Beluzian Syndicalist Party, Stanton House, and the New Beluzian Movement. These parties total 411 seats between them, providing an Assembly majority of 72. This is currently the strongest possible majority attainable with three parties. We hope to hear from the respective parties soon - Beluzian Syndicalist Party - |

Message | This is unacceptable. The Movement would take to the streets if we accepted two small scale cabinet positions, and we would consign ourselves to stagnation, and then oblivion. This would appear to be an insult on the basis of your previously mentioned desire to focus on stable government This is not only unfair in terms of us possessing the same number of seats as the Beluzian Syndicalist Party , who would possess 5 seats to our three, but also that Tony Wedgewood, who was elected via our 2nd preference for consul. This was as a result of those of us who lobbied internally within the Movement to support him as Consul over considerable pressure to support no other candidate. Increasing the seats of the Movement, particularly for Education and Culture, would strengthen the parliamentary position of us inside the Movement. In order to make this proposal, we have had to compromise with other sections of our movement to propose their own bill. We see this as unworkable and would only promote the festering deadlock previously observed. |

Message | @New Beluzian Movement - If you feel unable to support this proposal we encourage you to suggest a counter proposal. If it looks likely to recieve the support of a majority of the Assembly then we will support it. |

Random fact: In Culturally Protected nations, special care must be taken to ensure realism is maintained when role-playing a government controlled by an ethnic and/or religious minority. If it is to be supposed that this government is supported by a majority of the population, then this should be plausibly and sufficiently role-played. The burden of proof is on the player or players role-playing such a regime to demonstrate that it is being done realistically |
Random quote: "The great economic, social and political scientist, Karlstein Metz, accurately predicted over 2,500 years ago that capitalism is doomed to destruction by its inherent weaknesses and contradictions, and must inevitably be replaced by a communist form of social, political and economic organisation." - Friedrich Pfeiffer, former Dorvish politician |
