Message | The members of the National Federalist Party are split on this bill. The majority view is to be against this. However we have members, a very strong minority, who want prison to have more rehabilitative measures such as voting. It was for this reason we have proposed The Punishment and Rehabilitation of Prisoners Bill, in order to bring both sides together. As it stands we shall be abstaining on this Bill unless one side gets convinced either way. |

Message | We support the great multitude of conflicting perspectives this would bring into the arena of the ruling cadres. |

Message | We can understand your reservations on this bill, however if should be taken into consideration that data shows that punitive measures alone do not deter criminals from re offending. While we agree that criminals should face retribution for their actions, it is also vital that steps are taken to ensure they do not repeat these actions, for both economic and social reasons. In reality, if this bill were to pass, the minority of criminals awarded voting rights would not hold much sway over the outcome of elections, however it may go some way towards reintegrating offenders back into Beluzian society. |

Message | After many discussions with the Bill proposers there has been a swing in members towards voting yes for this. Our leader George Alexander has become convinced of the goodness of this Bill and has taken a three line whip against members who don't. Therefore we shall vote yes. |

Random fact: "Treaty-locking", or ratifiying treaties that completely or nearly completely forbid any proposals to change laws, is not allowed. Amongst other possible sanctions, Moderation reserves the discretion to delete treaties and/or subject parties to a seat reset if this is necessary in order to reverse a treaty-lock situation. |
