SUCCESSION TO THE THRONE

1. Succession to the office of Inkosi shall be limited to Indlovukazi Nomvula's descendents and matrilineal antecedents Of the Blood Royal Undoubted

--1. In Sympathy with the Inkolo Esintsundu Sizwe Syncretic Faith
--2. If wed, done so only with permit of the Inkosi and after grant of the Isicoco
--3. If wed, done only to consorts In Sympathy with the Inkolo Esintsundu Sizwe Syncretic Faith.

2. Succession to the office of Inkosi shall be by rule of Male Preference Uterine, being Uncle to Eldest Nephew by the Eldest Sister.

However, if the Inkosi's Eldest Sister has no sons, the first eligible person listed below shall succeed to the office of Inkosi in the following order:

3. If at any time a woman succeeds to the office of Inkosi, she shall be succeeded by her Eldest Son, who in turn shall be succeeded as in #2 above.

However, if a woman succeeds to the office of Inkosi but has no sons, the first eligible person listed below shall succeed to the office of Inkosi after her reign in the following order:

SUCCESSION TO OTHER NOBLE OFFICES

1. Accession to the rank of Prince is by right of birth with eligibility determined by blood relation to the Inkosi. The rank of Prince cannot be bequeathed or inherited except by eligible blood relation to the Inkosi.

2. Accession to the rank of inDuna is governed by prevailing rules of succession promulgated by the incumbent inDuna, his predecessors, or the Prince or other noble to whom his lands are constituent provided such rules are not contrary to orders promulgated by the Inkosi. However, the Inkosi reserves to his prerogative the revocation, retaining, and reallocation of the izinDuna at his leisure. All prevailing rules of succession for izinDuna are repealed upon revocation.

3. Accession to the rank of iPini inDuna is governed by prevailing rules of succession promulgated by the incumbent iPini inDuna, his predecessors, or the inDuna to whom his lands are constituent provided such rules are not contrary to orders promulgated by the Inkosi. However, the Inkosi reserves to his prerogative the revocation, retaining, and reallocation of the iPini izinDuna at his leisure. All prevailing rules of succession for iPini izinDuna are repealed upon revocation.

4. Accession to the rank of iduna is governed by prevailing rules of succession promulgated by the incumbent iduna, his predecessors, and the iPini inDuna and inDuna to whom his lands are constituent provided such rules are not contrary to orders promulgated by the Inkosi. However, the Inkosi reserves to his prerogative the revocation, retaining, and reallocation of the izinDuna at his leisure. All prevailing rules of succession for izinDuna are repealed upon revocation.


REGENCY

1. If the Inkosi is unable to perform the duties of his office by reason of illness, minority, or absence from Ibutho, the Sihlalo we umkhandlu we inkosi [Chairman of the King's Council] shall act as Prince/ss Regent.

--1. The Chairmanship and Membership of the umkhandlu we inkosi [the King's Council] shall be determined by the Inkosi. However, preference shall be given to descendants of the Inkosi by rule of Male Preference Primogeniture provided such descendants have reached their majority.

2. If the Indlovukazi is unable to perform the duties of her office by reason of illness, minority, or absence from Ibutho, the next eligible person to succeed to the office of Indlovukazi shall act as Princess Mother provided such person has reached her majority.


MEMBERSHIP IN THE ROYAL FAMILY

Membership in the Royal Family shall be limited to those matrilineal blood and conjugal relatives of the Inkosi with the rank of Queen Mother of Ibutho, Queen Consort of Ibutho, Prince/ss of Ibutho or of a constituent realm of Ibutho, their consorts, widows, and widowers if not remarried, and any other person designated as a member of the Royal Family by the Inkosi, provided that the Inkosi has not specifically barred any of the above persons from membership in the Royal Family.
