Bill: Cabinet Proposal of May 3667

Details

Submitted by[?]: Socialdemocrazia

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill presents the formation of a cabinet. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. Traditionally, parties in the proposal vote yes, others (the opposition) vote no. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in and all parties in the proposal have voted yes, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline.

Voting deadline: April 3668

Description[?]:

The Social Democracy invites the Democratic Party of Quanzar and the Istalian Social-Libertarian Party to form a new, progressive coalition. We have excluded the National Liberal Party from this coalition on the grounds that they have chosen to align themselves with the Populars for Istalia. Naturally, we will await the endorsement of the President of the Republic, as well as the invited parties, before we move this bill to a vote.

And yet we backed the DPQ candidate for presidency.

MessageBut then again Istalia no longer employs a presidential form of government.

In 3663, we urged the PNL to join the rest of us in a parliamentary coalition, instead of the Populars for Istalia. But the PNL opted to join the regressive rightists. The Social Democracy is just reminding the PNL that they can't constantly have the best of both worlds. But remember that this exclusion of the PNL naturally is not permanent.

We have campaigned for a change in government, and the people voted for it - thus, that is what they will get.

MessageThe classic argument of the Left: they are the "pure", the others are "sold" to power.

MessageLet me also remind you that the PNL is not needed to form a majority. The three parties in the proposed coalition have a comfortable majority. Why would we then need the support of the PNL, a party that recently chose to ditch us in favour of rightists, even when we invited them to stay with us?

PPI, we're not claiming that they're "sold," but we invited the PNL to join us in a coalition years ago, and they turned down the offer. If they now come crawling back to us and want to remain in power, that merely shows how unprincipled they are.

MessageWe express publicly our support and our proximity to the PNL in the face of accusations of the Social Democrats.
