Bill: Occupational health and safety reform

Details

Submitted by[?]: Vanguard for Virtue & Righteousness

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill proposes the withdrawal from a treaty. It will require half of the legislature to vote in favor[?]. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: December 3679

Description[?]:

Working conditions should be a matter of private law, not public law. Currently the government issues countless pages and guides of regulation (in some areas ok, in others excessive, elsewhere silent on matters not yet addressed that ought to be). A centralized agency is tasked with enforcing this, but they are often unable to respond everywhere and every time, corruption can occur making them look the other way, and fines are often not enough (esp. When done inconsistently) to fully discourage. This would abolish all of this, instead workers would directly sue over issues, instead of specific guidelines it would be based of consequences ( I.e : is needless harm being caused?). As such both technical blind spots in the law and frivolous standards would be null and void. Since workers and concerned members of the community would issue grievances it will be less corrupt and be enforced more widely and consistently. This would work in terms of a class action law suit ( all affected workers can sue collectively) also the workers would benefit from the fines, not the state. Unfortunately we are bound by a treaty, and it includes some other propositions as well (we have requested discussion on the pros/cons on this but most have ignored this so now Were just putting it to a vote to force the matter to public light as well as possibly change the treaty)

Kirlawa's current law is simple and straightforward, and our treaty is fair and helpful.

Message"Implement and straightforward" is not enough to rebut my criticism of the errors, inefficiencies, and loop holes in the current law.... We do not deny that the treaty has some merits but that is why we are requesting further dialogue on this subject.

MessageGenerally treaty was fitted to the times when it was written. With social and technology changes that occured during all these years, it has lost it's freshness and limits Kirlawa. As we can see all other countries had withdrawn from this disadvantageous treaty.
Kirla Tea Party shall support the withdrawal.
