"This is the first step towards complete nationalization and we oppose." - This has nothing to do with nationalisation as it does not cover the ownership of operations.
Whereas we would supprt the complete nationalisation of rail services, and local government (yes it had to happen) operation of local bus routes (long distance and other services would and should be handled by the private sector) we see no reason to subsidise the cost of ticket prices (except maybe in areas where few services are operated by are required for the public good). The cost of the ticket should represent the cost of the service otherwise, even with government funding, the whole operation would be a loss leader which would not make economic sense.
