Details

Submitted by[?]: Hosian Democratic Party

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: October 3683

Description[?]:

Geography and Climate:
Malivia is in a tropical region on the southern end of the continent Artania. Aside from the mountains and highlands of the country’s interior (Walkunia), most of the country is low-lying coastal jungle. Eighty percent of Malivia’s population lives in these coastal regions. Malivia is bordered to the north by Darnussia and Hobrazia.

History:
Malivia was first formally organized through colonial efforts of Dundorf. Consequently, the country has a substantial minority of people who are of Dundorfian ancestry. Throughout the years, Malivia has gone through multiple cycles of dynastic families, replaced by anti-monarchist republics, only to see new dynastic families rise. After a complete takeover by Communist elements in 3576, rightist groups in Malivia, including the Dundorfian minority and various religious groups, banded together to drive the Communists from power and restore the monarchy. The Dundorfian Gottbergen family has ruled Malivia since 3582 (92 years), and the current monarch is Christian III.

People:
The Malivian people are based on those who reside in RL South Asia and speak a similar language. However, the Gottbergen dynasty has used the power of the state to push the introduction of the King’s native Dundorfian (German) language and Hosian (Christian) faith.

Census of 3675
Population: 99,694,697
Race: (numbers from 3650 Census):
Malivians: 63.7% (79.1%)
Mixed (Dundorfian/Malivian): 14.6% (New category)
Dundorfians: 13.1% (12.3%)
Alorians: 3.7% (3.8%)
Hobrazians: 2.3% (2.2%)
Luthorians: 2.6% (2%)
Notes: The racial makeup of Maliva remains fairly stable. Government policies have encouraged Dundorfian immigration (most of these being right-leaning people fleeing from their socialist fatherland) and a high reproductive rate among Dundorfian citizens. As a result, Malivia continues to become slightly more Caucasian in complexion but remains an overwhelmingly ethnic Malivian country.

Language:
Malivian Only: 11.3% (22.7%)
Malivian, Dundorfian: 63.4% (59.8%)
Malivian, Dundorfian, Luthorian: 11.4% (11.1%)
Dundorfian Only: 13.5% (5.9%)
Other: 0.4% (0.5%)
Notes: Immigration and aggressive government pushing of the Dundorfian language has resulted in more than 3 in 4 Malivians being fluent in Dundorfian. The native Malivian tongue has given little ground, however, as more than 90% of Malivians still speak the language native to their land.

Religion
Geraja (Hinduism): 47.7% (62.3%)
Church of Malivia (Evangelical Lutheran Christianity): 24.3% (21.5%)
Aurorian Patriarchal Church (Roman Catholicism): 12.6% (3.6%)
Other Hosian (Charismatic/Pentecostal Christian): 3.9% (0.6%)
None: 7.1% (7.2%)
Other: 4.4% (4.8%)

The 3675 Census noted the Geraja faith losing nearly a quarter of its adherents, the steady increase of the Church of Malivia and the explosion of non-Luthoran Hosianism. The native Geraja faith lost its absolute majority in the nation, and is xpected to lose its plurality status in the 3700 Census, as it makes up just 47.7% of Malivians, compared to Hosianism's cumulative 40.8%.

Random fact: In Culturally Protected nations, it is the responsibility of players to ensure the candidate boxes on their Party Overview screens are filled in with appropriate names. If a player is allotted seats in a Cabinet bill and has not filled in names for the relevant candidate position, then the program will automatically fill in the positions with names which might not necessarily be appropriate for the Cultural Protocols.
