Bill: Openness and Humanity in Immigration Policy

Details

Submitted by[?]: Telamon Social Democratic Party

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: October 2164

Description[?]:

Currently our nation is to a large extent closed to the outside world by being marketly hostile towards immigration. While maintaining some degree of control over immigration, the current policy overemphasizes the security implication of immigration and counterproductively diminishes our appeal as a nation. Also our hostility to refugees reflects poorly on us as we fail to provide for people who have had to leave their home due to very difficult circumstances.

We should open to intelligent and enterprising people whatever their origin and show some decency towards all refugees from difficult circumstances, not only ones from extreme circumstances.

MessageIf you change the second to more closely regard the fact that they are refugees (ie. must come from some situation where they can resonably expect death/imprisonment etc. without cause) then we would have no problem with giving them financial aid, in fact it would be our duty as fellow human beings

MessageTNP will vote no to this as it has always opposed immigration. The state of Telamon health service is disgusting our police are failing to protect the citizens so we can not let anymore people into the country. also letting outsiders in ends up causing crime, divisions, destroys cultures and traditions and it has bad effects on the country side and enviroment. To allow immigration will only harm and destroy Telamon, I seem to be the only one paying attention of the state of Telamon services at the moment.

MessageThe 2nd one is also stupid, why should we give someone aid when they could be claiming something stupid or telling lies and we wouldnt care. We would be opening the door to terroists and I have told you on by budgrt bill about health that proves we can not take any more people in because the people are dying from common things like colds thats how bad Telamon is. If you people have any morals or standards and cares about the Telamon people you will vote no to this bill. You will have Humanity in our immigration policy if you vote no to this bill.

Random fact: In Culturally Protected nations, special care must be taken to ensure realism is maintained when role-playing a government controlled by an ethnic and/or religious minority. If it is to be supposed that this government is supported by a majority of the population, then this should be plausibly and sufficiently role-played. The burden of proof is on the player or players role-playing such a regime to demonstrate that it is being done realistically

Random quote: "It is said, 'Pontesi is Jelbic in nature'. But I tell you, they are really a lost tribe of Selucians, forced to become barbarians by their savage Jelbic conquerors." - Alamar Xarfaxis, former Pontesian politician
