MessageTax cuts for the people! Also why tax the most impoverished of us? (Ooc: learned you can't make a 0% tax bracket so it's only a 1% tax)

Message"Also why tax the most impoverished of us?"

We completely and strongly agree.

"(Ooc: learned you can't make a 0% tax bracket so it's only a 1% tax)"

This is incorrect.
Of course you can make a 0% tax bracket.
Because that's what our current tax schedule _already has_, on everyone's first 100k KDI of income.
(And even in yours, on the first 20k. But our KDI is a very small denomination of currency, one of the smallest across Terra, and 20k KDI really doesn't go very far at all.)

But your proposal puts a nagging nuisance 1% tax on everyone's next 80k of income -- that slice which is above 20k but below 100k.
Not enough to collect any major revenue -- the amount projected looks to be in the same realm as that which would be collected by raising the luxury tax by 1%, or be foregone by lowering it by 1% -- but instead it's just enough in order to inflict substantial and utterly needless hassle on our poorest citizens.

Our current tax schedule exempts from tax entirely, everyone's first 100k of income, thereby avoiding this nuisance.

Furthermore, our current tax schedule combines fairness and simplicity -- it has easy-to-remember, easy-to-calculate steps of 10% from each bracket to the next.

MessageThis still leaves a couple hundred billions of the budget surplus created by the budget cuts left,so there is still room for other tax cuts.

MessageAh, we misread the > sign. Good point, we will vote against this bill and make a better budget. Honestly we thought the simplicity of the cut and dry increments between earning amounts and % amounts seemed lazy and unrealistic. How much is being raised or not raised is more important....

MessageI actually like the 1% tax on people making lower than 20,000 KDI so I will agree with this bill.
