Date | 13:52:32, January 03, 2006 CET | From | Liberal Imperialist Party | To | Debating the Public Transport Act |
Message | It's a step towards socialism, oppression and bureaucracy. It's a step towards some people paying for others to travel. |

Message | Local governments being allowed to make democratic decisions on subsidising public transport, in our opinion, has preciously little to do with socialism, oppression and bureaucracy. Rather it has to do with public services, democracy and localism. |

Message | It's removing a blanket free market policy that you are (supposedly) committed to in favour of a disjointed system which frankly makes no sense for railways. How will you arrange fares of journies that travel between states? Didnt you just propose an anti-Federalist rebranding bill anyway? In our view, this is just a veiled attempt at reversing the free market achievements of the Capitalist Coalition. |
Date | 20:27:35, January 03, 2006 CET | From | Radical Freedom Party | To | Debating the Public Transport Act |
Message | We propose that local governments be allowed to make democratic decisions! Surely that is the least we can do to promote public transport. If anything, a Federal ban on local government action is the 'opressive' choice. |

Message | "We propose that local governments be allowed to make democratic decisions! Surely that is the least we can do to promote public transport." We propose that national government be allowed to make democratic decisions on national systems. Makes sense, yes? "If anything, a Federal ban on local government action is the 'opressive' choice." *shrug* The railway is a national system, not an internal state system. It makes no sense to give states control over railways. |
