Message | And the Liberals suggest the VVR aren't fascist? |

Message | Fascism generally involves: ultra-nationalism (quarter true), militarism (We're less so then *you*), economic planning/ economic corporatism (we are more free market and distributist), totalitarianism (we want small government, decentralization, abolish modern nation state), police state (we wish to abolish the modern centralized police force for more traditional methods). Or did you mean by fascist " I don't like this"? In which case were probably very fascist ;) |

Message | It could be argued "police" is the wrong term here, but we're using an existing turn of phrase here. Perhaps "citezens watch"? |

Message | In terms of your repressive social policies and corporatist economic policies, I believe fascist is an apt term. |

Message | Also it should be noted that economic corporatism is not the same thing as "corporations", it is the notion that the economy should be planned by both workers and owners negotiating via collective bargaining, at least in fascism this is done in a more centralized national level with the state presiding over as arbiter. Granted this is not a fundamental aspect of fascism, but it correlates. An example of corporatism is this bill: http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=415700 (it would be unreasonable on that alone to call the bill "fascist" though..) , anywho the true defining traits of fascism is totalitarian ultra-nationalism , in the words of the fascist dictator Mussolini: "The Fascist conception of the State is all-embracing; outside of it no human or spiritual values can exist, much less have value. Thus understood, Fascism is totalitarian, and the Fascist State—a synthesis and a unit inclusive of all values—interprets, develops, and potentiates the whole life of a people. ...everything in the state, nothing against the State, nothing outside the state." Clearly we are not fascist , you just like using the term Here's a basic dictionary definition: http://i.word.com/idictionary/fascism Here is how your using the term: http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fascist_(insult) It is not a meaningful statement but an expression of your dislike |
