Message | Mr. Speaker, We do not see any safety issues concerning this change. Human history has shown that we tend to adjust environments. Whether this be our food sources or the domestication of animals. Just because we are able to now do this at a genetic level does not mean much at all. Food is already regulated. We have in Lodamun food standards. I assume this means that any food considered unfit for consumption is not allowed. The scientific process applies to all genetic modification made to a food. This type of analysis and observation make sure changes happened in the manner intended. It will be quite evidence through the working process how modification would affect a given food. It would not be as though we would allow modification in food in a way that would make it less appealing to eat. To further address the worries the DA has about food safety, we would like to point out that the Great Democratic Republic of Lodamun currently has the following legislations in place: "The government introduces, and actively enforces, food standards provisions." "Any chemicals used in agriculture or processing, and any Genetically Modified ingredients must be listed." "All ingredients and corresponding nutritional information must be listed." It would still be very easy for people to avoid GM crops, and as such anyone who is suspicious about the nature of GM crops can actively avoid it. ~ Alicia Chambers Dorian Young SLP Representative for Education and Culture SLP Rep for Science and Technology |

Message | Mr. Speaker, We support the production and consumption of GM food, and we are glad that the SLP has proposed this bill. Our fear of allowing it in the past was the inequality between large agribusinesses and small farms. We wish to pass resolutions to keep all seed designs publicly-owned, to avoid the greedy capitalisation on what should be national progress. -- Gordon Fertig, Chairman of the GNRG, President of Lodamun |

Message | Mr Speaker. Mr President. We support. We chose selective hearing as to not hear the Presidents words "greedy capitalisation". Phillipa Corazona D.A Representative on Justice D.A Deputy Leader |
