MessageMr. Speaker,

This is obviously a desperate attempt by the DA to get a grip on power. The economic ideologies of the SLP and the DA are polar opposites. The cabinet responsibilities seem randomly assigned. The SLP will control Infrastructure/Transport, Finance, and Foreign Affairs, so why not Trade/Industry as well? This is generally a nonsensical proposal. We would prefer to see a coalition between the SLP and the P&A, even if we are not in it.

This is in no way an attempt by the D.A to gain power. We assigned posts that would represent a working coalition. The departments assigned for the D.A are departments which need working on. And we believe we would be most effective in these role.

MessageMr. Speaker,

since SLP is the only party that has gained seats and since they have won in all of the Provinces, we should also consider a minority government. Anyways, SLP should be the one starting coalition talks and proposals.

MessageMr. Speaker,

The SLP thinks this is as good a forum as any to begin discussion about a cabinet.

This jump in power was unexpected, yet the SLP are more than ready to transition to doing more just voicing our own opinions. We are pleased to have caught the attention of Lodamun. However, we also acknowledge how important it is that we listen to more experienced parties.

Especially since we probably do not realise the importance of taking on the responsibilities in a cabinet. We have even griped on occasion about the many cabinet proposals we have seen in our few years. We hope to make this process more stream-line in years to come.

The GNRG is correct when stating that the DA and the SLP have not see eye to eye on the role a government should have in the economy of the country. And while it may or may not be a power play by the DA, they were quite kind in assigning us the responsibilities of finance.

The make up of our responsibilities are fairly well assessed although we did not have a hand in choosing which roles we wished to have. The SLP would have likely only swapped Infrastructure and Transportation with Science and Technology. As is stands, we would not be opposed to voting yes to this change in cabinet. We could make it work.

This coalition will be a working coalition. And we are happy to enter into this with the SLP. We will work closely together. We would ask that our coalition partners don't apologise for winning the elections. The people have spoken. We believe every political party is experienced to govern and we will govern accordingly without apologizing to the opposition. We can discuss a reshuffle later on if the SLP would like. Right now we need . To get government functioning.
