Message | We cannot keep our defense industries into the hands of corporations. What if one day we needed to go to war,and this corporations held it hostage,Raised prices on us and refused to sell, and on top of that they might just sell to other countries. How will that benefit us?.It wont.It will only cause us to lose a war. |

Message | That's not how it works. The Defence industry is a special industry. We already control who they can sell arms to under law. They can't sell to other countries unless we approve the sale. Secondly contracts are signed well in advance for the supply of things like munitions. Also its not how market competition works. If the war is that large of a war that it's like WW2 we would need so many munitions and arms the normal state industry could nowhere need cope. We would have to contract out stuff to, you guessed it, private companies. The cost of nationalizing such an industry will be massive. And what is a member of the right coalition doing pushing left wing policies? OOC: I literally can't think of a single RL example of when what you are scared of happening actually happened. None. |

Random fact: In order for a Cabinet bill to pass, more than half of the legislature must vote for it and all of the parties included in the proposed Cabinet must support it. If your nation has a Head of State who is also the Head of Government, then the party controlling this character must also vote for the bill, since the Head of Government is also a member of the Cabinet. If any of these requirements are not met, the bill will not pass. |
