Message | We need to give some power to the king so he isn't just a sitting duck. |
Date | 23:44:04, January 02, 2006 CET | From | Proletariat Coalition | To | Debating the Power to the King |
Message | Why? Let's get rid of democracy! Yay! We can reduce the input of citizens just to satisfy one family. Sounds fair. Even having the monarchy is a ridiculous waste of money (and fun for us as we can't have head of state elections) but taking away the power of the people to give to him is outrageous. Our Monarchy is meant to be symbolic, leave it at that. Anti-democracy. |

Message | I agree. The king isn't quite a 'sitting duck' as he shares executive power with the Cabinet. Giving him the power to name local mayors will take away from Democracy. |

Message | I wish we could get rid of the monarch so we could have head of state elections. This king thing is dumb. |

Random quote: "Civil disobedience. . . is not our problem. Our problem is civil obedience. Our problem is that numbers of people all over the world have obeyed the dictates of the leaders of their government and have gone to war, and millions have been killed because of this obedience. . Our problem is that people are obedient all over the world in the face of poverty and starvation and stupidity, and war, and cruelty. Our problem is that people are obedient while the jails are full of petty thieves, and all the while the grand thieves are running the country. That's our problem." - Howard Zinn |
