Bill: Arms Restrictions Act - 3744
Details
Submitted by[?]: Great National Republican Guard
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: August 3744
Description[?]:
It is more likely that a Hosian killed Percy than a Lodamese Nationalist. Lodamese Nationalism preaches strong respect for the state, and hardline Nationalist parties have called for strong presidential powers even when they didn't control the Presidency. It is unimaginable that a Lodamese Nationalist would have killed the President of Lodamun. We must ban all non-Nationalists from the military to ensure that only Nationalists have access to arms. Upon passage of this bill, only Lodamese Nationalists will be allowed in the military. |
Proposals

Message | Mr. Speaker, As we have very few Lodamese Nationalists among our members, we cannot support this bill. Though we are deeply saddened by the events concerning the death of the President, we feel that this bill discriminates against those who are not Lodamese Nationalists but still have a deep connection to their home. |

Message | Mr. Speaker, If we are providing arms to people on the military when they are not in training or on missions then we are policing our military arms wrong in the first place. It has less to do with what people are in the military, and more to do with what they're allowed to do. Besides, we are ignoring that our current weapon law for private citizens is: "Citizens may own any type of weapons, but certain types are restricted to designated places" And if that doesn't scream danger then I don't know what would. ~ Rowan Argall SLP Leader |

Message | Mr. Speaker, Of course the proposal discriminates against those who are not Lodamese Nationalists. That is the entire point of the bill. -- Gordon Fertig, Chairman of the GNRG, Opposition Leader |
