MessageMr. Speaker,

We could understand an increase to 60, but to 65 is ridiculous. It was changed to 55, from 60, when we had a stable economy. Our economic problems resulted from failed reformism from previous administrations which isolated us from the international community.

We should not let our elders be the ones to face the economic hardships of Lodamun. The retirees in Lodamun are the former workers who lived and built Lodamun during its eras of prosperity. To say that "we cannot afford to shell out pensions" is utter disrespect to these workers.

If we want to relieve the state of the responsibility of paying too much money for pensions, we can be proactive and encourage the expansion of the private pension system.

MessageMr. Speaker,

Increasing living standards and healthcare provision means our citizens are able to enjoy longer and healthier lives, so we do not believe it is generally so unreasonable to expect citizens to work until they are 65. We would, however, be prepared to support a retirement age of 60 as a temporary compromise.

Random fact: Particracy does not allow real-life fictional references (eg. Gandalf, Harry Potter, Luke Skywalker).

Random quote: "The decadent international but individualistic capitalism in the hands of which we found ourselves after the war is not a success. It is not intelligent. It is not beautiful. It is not just. It is not virtuous. And it doesn't deliver the goods." - John Maynard Keynes
