Only opposition parties may ask as many questions, they may ask as many as they want and the two parties in government are encouraged to answer. | Message | Mr Speaker, The calculations from the Ministry of Finance were to uncertain that we could decide fully on how we would finance the budget cuts. We have however now come up with a proposal on how we could finance the tax cuts, which you can see in the "Balanced Budget" proposal. The reason why we in the UR wanted this tax reform is so that no one will pay more than 50% in direct taxes. We should not take more than half of what people own and spend it in the public sector. This is our explanation for our tax reform. The previous tax system was also a growth killer due to its many tax brackets, which would discourage people from getting a raise or working more.
