Bill: Software Patent Reform Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: Citizen's Power

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: June 2168

Description[?]:

We at CP feel that software copyrights are some of the most idiotic inventions government has ever produced. Software patenting is like a carpenter patenting his style of hitting his hammer. These patents enable well-funded software giants to quash competition from upstart software developers. Not only is unfair, but it often leads to stagnation in software progress. To many basic forms of code have been fenced off, that developers can’t use this basic foundational code to make better programs.

Random fact: Don't put "the" as the first word in your party name, because when parties are referred to in news reports, their names are preceded with "the", e.g. the [Socialist Party] has lost.
