Bill: Worker Autonomy Act of 3778
Details
Submitted by[?]: Rutanian Civic Association
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: March 3779
Description[?]:
The Rutanian Civic Association proposes an overhaul of the national policy regarding the minimum wage. Under current laws, collective bargaining is granted as a right to all public and private employees. Additionally, unions are already given a nationwide responsibility to negotiate daily working hours with employers. We propose that a set national minimum wage standard be scrapped in favor of expanding worker-employer negotiations to include wages. This measure will ensure maximum flexibility in the formation of minimum wages throughout the nation and it removes the bureaucracy of the national government having to revisit the minimum wage issue every so many years due to inadequacies that arise out of inflation. The Worker Autonomy Act shall also provide workers with the right to establish democratic workers councils at any businesses that are owned by the employees. The current prohibition of democratic workers councils is unnecessary and it is a barrier to associated economic activity. |
