Bill: Public Decency Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: Imperial National Party

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: July 3780

Description[?]:

Our current policy is grossly barbaric and should be outlawed with the passage of this legislation! What kind of nation are we to allow executions of high crimes to have the possibility be to be carried out in public? Or even broadcasted throughout our nation? It is immoral and indecent to our people.

Executions of high crimes should be always done in private, within a secure location with the allowance of the families of both parties to be present.

MessageWe agree that the current policy serves no purpose except to compound the shame and tragedy of a terrible event. We must respect the right to a private execution is the least that we can ensure for the condemned and their families. The Liberal Party hopes that someday the nation will see fit to completely abolish the death penalty, but until then we believe that this is an important step towards making it somewhat more humane.
