Details

Submitted by[?]: FJS Freedom, Justice, Sustainability

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: June 3809

Description[?]:

You put down land mines to kill your enemy in war, but instead an innocent child steps on one. Land mines are another type of weapon that often causes collateral damage. Out military is great enough and powerful enough to win without them. We are better then this, ban land mines now!

We might as well not have a department of defence. Let the innocent civilians be killed by rougues and terrorists. This government has no back up plan.

MessageMr. Speaker,

we agree that there must be some regulations on the use of landmines. We also believe that we could do without landmines. On the other hand, Mr. Valentinn has a point. This government is getting rid of all of our defensive measures. We'll have to take this under consideration. We would like to know what the military strategy is getting to.

Random quote: "Civil disobedience. . . is not our problem. Our problem is civil obedience. Our problem is that numbers of people all over the world have obeyed the dictates of the leaders of their government and have gone to war, and millions have been killed because of this obedience. . Our problem is that people are obedient all over the world in the face of poverty and starvation and stupidity, and war, and cruelty. Our problem is that people are obedient while the jails are full of petty thieves, and all the while the grand thieves are running the country. That's our problem." - Howard Zinn
