This is a very cheap program that would save us a lot of money in the long run due to lower rates of STDs as well as less fewer pregnancies. Fewer unwanted pregnancies would also mean fewer abortions. So it is a policy that those on the left as well as the right should support wholeheartedly. |

Message | "If someone gets an STD from having sex, and they knew their partner had an STD, then they should pay for the treatment. If someone gets an STD from having sex, and they didn't know their partner had an STD, their partner should pay for it. If someone wants to by contraceptives, let them do so. If they don't, do not stop them. Do not waste the taxes of the virgins on protecting the non-virgins." ~Amy Smith, Secondary Chairman of the LPS |

Message | It does not discriminate against virgins. Virgins are free to use contraceptives as well. Everyone would have access to them. Face it, people have sex. It's a national concern if rates of STDs skyrocket. It does effect all of us, not just those who have STDs. You said that their partner should pay if they got an STD from sex? What if their partner didn't know they had the STD? How do you prove which one gave the STD to the other person? In any case, all of this could be a purely philosophical decision if we provided free contraceptives to our people! It costs virtually nothing and does wonders for the wellbeing of all Solentians as well as decrease the amount of abortions performed every year. Who would be against that? |
