Bill: Further localization

Details

Submitted by[?]: Free Democratic Party

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: August 3825

Description[?]:

"Our goal is to get 90% of the government localized or abolished. We are well on our way, and why stop? Here, we respect religious communities, and we give them the right to legalize child alcohol for things like communion and other religious ceremonies. Also, local governments regulate this more efficiently."

~Ted Johnson, head chairman of the LPS and Prime minister

Message"From tobacco to alcohol, the LPS are determined to allow minors to have full legal access to dangerous substances. Current laws do not outlaw communion, this is a myth."

MessageAgreed, it could give minors access to alcohol BUT it could just as well lead to some local governments banning alcohol entirely. This is the beauty of leaving it up to local communities, more people get what they want. Some areas wish to see alcohol available to people 16 and older, some 18 and older, some 21 and older, and some don't want alcohol legal at all. Let's allow people to live in an area that agrees with their viewpoint on this issue.

Message"And some will grant it at 12, and some at 8, 7, 6...this is wantonly dangerous."

MessageDoesn't seem likely but I guess it is theoretically possible. Though I doubt there are any local communities that would put it below 12. But I guess anything is theoretically possible. Though the backlash that such cities would receive would probably be more than enough to get them to change such laws.

Random fact: In order for a Cabinet bill to pass, more than half of the legislature must vote for it and all of the parties included in the proposed Cabinet must support it. If your nation has a Head of State who is also the Head of Government, then the party controlling this character must also vote for the bill, since the Head of Government is also a member of the Cabinet. If any of these requirements are not met, the bill will not pass.

Random quote: "When we allow freedom to ring, when we let it ring from every village and every hamlet, from every state and every city, we will be able to speed up that day when all of God's children, black men and white men, Jews and Gentiles, Protestants and Catholics, will be able to join hands and sing in the words of the old Negro spiritual, 'Free at last! free at last! thank God Almighty, we are free at last!'" - Martin Luther King Jr.
