Bill: Nuclear Power Reform
Details
Submitted by[?]: Independence Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: May 3835
Description[?]:
This proposal would gradually wean us off of nuclear power. We should focus public funding on truly alternative energy such as solar, wind, geothermal, hydroelectric and other forms of energy. What this bill would essentially do is maintain the nuclear plants we have now but not fund the construction of any new ones. We would let the nuclear plants run their course and shut them down gradually as alternative forms of energy take ahold. Eventually all nuclear plants would be shut down this way, but not until we have energy independence established through renewables first. It would be a moderate approach to shutting down our nuclear energy plants and begin to move us into the future of fully renewable energy. |

Random fact: Cabinet ministers who disagree seriously with the head of government would usually be expected to resign. Parties within the cabinet may attempt to manoeuvre to replace the head of government though, for example by proposing a new cabinet bill or voting for an early election. |
