Message | These two policies are completely unrelated and should be voted on separately. Putting a popular policy with a controversial one purely for political advantage is shameful and extremely damaging to our democracy. We suggest this bill be pulled from the floor and separated. With regards to the policies at hand, a further increase of the minimum wage will only harm those most in need. Workers add a certain value to a firm and so the firm will be wiling to pay this or a competitor will. If we force firms to pay those adding low value (e.g. young people lacking in experience) more than they currently do they will just lose their jobs. Only those already earning a living wage (or close to) will be employable at this rate. There are better ways of helping the poor. Obviously our party supports the rights of crossdressers. We are disappointed this eve needs to be said. |
