Voting deadline: June 2170

Description[?]:

Certain aspects of the environmental policy could be strengthened to the benefit of business and civilians alike.

1)Government regulation of hunting.

Presently "Hunting and fishing is not regulated". This could lead to game/stock depletion and with it the death of an industry that could be sustained for generations of Pontesians to ensure that an opportunity is not taken from our decendents. The restaurant, food and as a consequence tourism industries would be negatively affected if these industries we to expire, as well as the aesthetic values and pastime that these creatures and hunting them provide our populace. Kurui recommends that we impose restrictions to allow the breeding and continuation of these creatures, so that in the long term, there will be more to appeciate, either through binoculars, the sight of your gun, or on your plate.

To be changed to: Hunting and fishing activities are restricted to designated areas and periods

2)Government regulation of pollution in industry.

Presently "Industrial pollution is not regulated by the government". The absence of regulations may cut costs but the pollutants and their negative side effects, such as acid rain and eutrophication, cause damage to trees and livestocks which in turn damage the outputs of the timber and hunting industries. This not only pushes up the prices of furniture and stationery due to the decreased supply of raw material, it also pushes up the prices of meats and fish as they become increasingly harder to find in the wild, making competing markets with lower prices seem more attractive to the consumer. Kurui highly recommends we bring in some moderate, but not drastic regulations in this area - this way the costs do not put as many businesses off starting here, but protects their livelihoods in our nation.

To be changed to: "The government enforces moderate pollution restrictions."

3)Drinking water

Currently, "the government does not regulate the quality of drinking water". This means energy and time are wasted in making the water safe for consumption at the user's end which could be used more profitably, and the additional effort would detract tourists from coming to our land when they want to have a relaxed time. The cost of imposing standards on drinking water would reap the rewards in increased sales and income taxes as productivity, company profits, and thus employee wage packets increase. Kurui recommends this course of action.

To be changed to: "The government sets a single standard to ensure all tap water is drinkable.

MessageTechnical error. I call upon all parties to vote against this, as much as I created it, so that we don't have redundant legislation.

MessageThe article has been resubmitted here, with the proposals actually put in, and hopefully, 50% less Kurui stupidity. http://80.237.164.51/particracy/main/viewbill.php?billid=44184

The proposals and intents, however, remain the same.

Random fact: "Kubrk" is a Jelbic word that has the colloquial meaning "old man" or "geezer".

Random quote: "Many forms of Government have been tried, and will be tried in this world of sin and woe. No one pretends that democracy is perfect or all-wise. Indeed, it has been said that democracy is the worst form of government except all those other forms that have been tried from time to time." - Winston Churchill
