| Currently, all adults upon completion of schooling must serve either a term in the military or a lesser paid term of civilian national service, at their option. We think this is unfair and quite honestly disgusting. There should not be any mandatory national service, people should have the choice to do what they want. |

| Message | National Service is disgusting because it forces people to do something they wish not to. Not everyone is the same, not everyone finds the idea of being in the military or the civilian service appealing, some people may have a different route in life they wish to take in life, for example some people want to be artists or footballers while instead of embracing their dreams, they are forced to do national service for a term after they leave school. Plus with the current age or mandatory education being 20, that would make people 21 by the time they could choose their path in life, which is ridiculous. Even if our bill to lower the age of compulsory education to 18, that will leave people unable to do what they truly want with their lives until the age of 19. We believe this is inherently wrong and thus national service should be scrapped once and for all. |

| Message | Mr. Speaker, National Service provides the youth with job experience and a desirable work ethic, cresting an industrious and morally upright people. Likewise it gives young adults real world experience, dealing with life, finance and inter-worker relations. National service helps to preserve both a military and industrious spirit. By providing people with military training we lower the national crime rate (IRL Switzerland). This is why we of the LIP support national service. While it forces young adults into the workforce, it doesn't force thwm into the army, allowing some degree of choice as to how their energies are applied in service to their country which labors to keep them safe. Likewise it doesn't mandate how they live their lives after their mandatory service term is up, allowing people to become artists or athletes. I yield. |

| Message | We strongly disagree, compulsory education is good enough, our nation does not need national service too. Especially since the age of compulsory education is so high. Even if powered to 18 like proposed, that would still mean the people don't really get to decide what to do with their lives until after they are 19, which in our opinion is ridiculous. Perhaps if we lowered the age of compulsory education to 16 or 17 this COULD be justified, but even then we are against. It's time we allowed our people to decide what they do with their lives. |

| Message | Mr. Speaker, The education level, while it os being lowered through other bills, gives the Luthori people the knowledge that they will need to get through life. Mandatory national service gives the Luthori people the wisdom and real world experience to get through life. The LIP only have the long term interests of the people and the Empire in mind when we advocate for national service. These are the people who will lead this nation into the future. By giving them the skills and tools necessary for the future, the Empire as a whole is securing its own future. Remove national service feom the equation and you remove a valuable source of experience and wisdom from the people. Likewise through this program of national service, we may find inspired, talanted and dedicated individuals who could greatly contribute to the military/government, thus further advancing the abilities of our defence and/or leadership. | Message | People can't learn wisdom and real world experience simply through national service, everyone is different, most people gain that from age and experience in life, they do not need national service for that, even if it did have an effect on some people, it would be minimal, thus it is a waste of time and prohibits the freedom of our people. If people want to join the military, then they will do so of their own accord, if they want to do activities included in civilian national service such as working in healthcare facilities and care homes, they will do so of their own accord. Not everyone will want to do national service and thus if opt to do civilian national service out of the two options, but still do not want to do it in places such as care homes and healthcare facilities they could actually damage the country due to their lack of caring and standards of care provided by people doing national service will decrease. But as we say, if people want to do things that are included in national service, they will do of their own accord and gain "wisdom and experience in the real world" from there, other people will gain those qualities through other activities and careers. Plus we have to take into consideration that some people are simply not the type of people who would benefit from any kind of career as some people are no "useful" to society and are greedy and selfish, national service will not change that in any way. This government needs to stop generalising people and let the will of the people prevail, not deciding what to do with their lives in an experiment that guaranties little if any success. |

If they do please by all means continue and isolate yourself from other member parties. If not then revole your insult and live up to the respectability demanded from a decent political party.
